If the landing was fake, why is the Earth in the background?

The Moon Landing

Did we land on the moon? Or did NASA fake the moon landing?
First, the probability of someone landing on the moon in the late 1960’s was a 90% chance, because each mission was computer simulated so each mission could be planned out safely. Second most people believed the landing was fake, because of all the defects and technical problems, but because of the skill of the flight controllers, engineers and astronauts, the problems were either corrected so that the crews were able to complete their missions with amazing success. In my opinion I believe that the moon landing was not a fake because the astronauts were well trained, the technology was tried and tested, and the NASA engineers had successfully built a space shuttle.

Furthermore I believe the moon landing was not a fake, because to get a clear image of the moon landing back then was impossible. It was impossible because the Lunar Module’s antenna and power supply restricted the amount of bandwidth that could be transmitted. Apollo 11 was thereby limited to using a black-and-white, slow-scan TV camera with a scan rate of 10 frames-per-second at 320 lines-per-frame. The sunlight reflecting off the astronauts sent back complex artifacts to the viewers, so this made the astronauts appear to be ghostly on screen. That is why no one could properly see the astronauts.

Also the landing was real because it was possible to take pictures on the moon. Apollo astronauts used a special transparency film designed specifically, under a NASA contract, for hostile environments like the Moon. The photos taken were not fake because the cameras were protected inside a special case designed to keep them cool. Without convection or conduction, the only method of heat transfer is radiation. Radioactive heat can be effectively directed away from an object by wrapping it in a material with a reflective surface, so in the end the cameras would have been wrapped in a white reflective material.

If the moon landing were fake the people who believed it would be affected because, NASA could have raised an approximately 30 billion dollars faking going to the moon. If something were to go wrong people could have been killed. By faking the landing the U.S. could have had easy success in beating the U.S.S.R. Furthermore by distracting people from the Vietnam War, the government would benefit. Finally the U.S. could pay off large numbers off people.

How bad is it that people do not believe man landed on the moon. Here are some of the questions people were asking.
First of all people are wondering If Neil Armstrong was the first man on the Moon, then who shot the video of him descending the ladder and taking his initial steps on the lunar surface? When Armstrong was at the top of the ladder, he pulled a lanyard to swing open the pallet, which was hinged at the bottom. By doing this the TV camera came down. The TV camera then took a picture of him taking his first steps on the moon.

Another Question people have is, the black sky should be full of stars, yet none are visible in any of the Apollo photographs.
The stars were to faint to see, because of the Apollo photos are of brightly lit objects on the surface of the Moon, for which fast exposure settings were required. The fast exposures simply did not allow enough starlight into the camera to record an image on the film.

There are very few repercussions for the landing on the moon, but if I had to list a few, I would say that the possibility of losing lives, the possibility of losing billions of dollars, and the possibility of losing the nations support for the NASA Programs.

The repercussions of people not believing in the 1969 landing on the moon would be purely political, because faith in the government was at an all time low due to the war in Vietnam. The government was looking for a major project to win back support from its people.

In conclusion I believe that the moon landing was not fake because, in the late 1960’s their technology was easily advanced enough to go to the moon. All of the questions people asked could be easily answered, and last most people didn’t believe in the government at the time so the government wanted to win back the support from its people.

Spring Break

My spring break was pretty borring. It started out with me staying at my grandpas house for a couple of days.
Then I went and saw the movie 300, which was okay. After that I hung out with my friends and played basketball most of the time. Furthermore I went to Harley’s St. Patricks day party. In the end I didn’t really do a lot this spring Break.

Instructions on how to play basketball

The basic rules of basketball are the same regardless of where it’s played or how many are playing. The ball must be passed or dribbled to be moved and running while holding the ball is not allowed. Players alternately shoot the ball in to their designated basket scoring 2 points for each basket, except when shot from outside the three-point line (approximately 20 feet from the basket), when a shot counts for 3 points.

Fouling occurs when an opposing player strikes a player in possession of the ball by pushing, tripping, hitting, or otherwise interfering physically with the handling of the ball. Foul shots are taken from the foul line and count as 1 point each.

After each basket is scored, the opposing side is given possession of the ball and the ball must be moved down the court by dribbling, or passing to another player. Any player can shoot the ball as long as the ball does not go out of bounds before the shot is made.

Once the ball has left a player’s hands, no player can interfere with the basket. However, any opposing player can attempt to catch or deflect the ball from the basket before it goes in. Similarly, a missed shot can be rebounded by any player and the individual or team who successfully rebounds the ball retains possession.
